Karen has been involved in amateur theatre since 1989 when she joined Beckett Players and hasn’t looked back. She has worked with Lakeshore Light Opera, Lakeshore Players, Lyric Theatre and the Lyric Theatre Singers, St. George’s High School, The Segal Centre, the WOWCATS, the Hudson Music Club (former President), the Hudson Village Theatre, Hudson Players Club, et. al. in a number of capacities including performer, costumer, choreographer, Artistic Director, Producer, and board member.

Elizabeth Proulx has been involved in various community theatre groups over the years both onstage and offstage. She has been musical director for Wowcats and at The Hudson Village Theatre. She has performed with “l’ensemble vocal Les Enchanteurs”, Hudson Music Club, Lyric Theatre Singers, and The Lakeshore Players to name a few. She is happy to share her expertise and help shape the vision of this new community group as a member of its Executive commitee.

Christine Sheppard caught the theatre bug at 12, watching her parents rehearse with the Beckett Players. She soon joined them, proving theatre might just be hereditary. After a break to raise three kids (its own kind of drama), she returned to the stage thanks to a dare from her daughter to audition for Hudson Village Theatre’s Panto. Three glitter-filled years later, she’d also performed with Hudson Players Club in Jitters, The Great Gatsby, and Balconville, even serving on the board—where she learned theatre politics run on snacks.

Chris has also tackled Shakespeare, with roles in Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and For the Love of Shakespeare—because who doesn’t love memorizing centuries-old iambic pentameter for fun? She recently joined Encore Theatre’s 9 to 5 ensemble and liked it so much she joined the board (classic theatre trap).

By day, Chris is a resource teacher with a Master’s in Educational Counselling and Psychology, helping kids with learning differences like Dyslexia—which means she can both decode Shakespeare and help you spell it.

Jen brings more than 30 years of theatre experience and a deep appreciation for community theatre to her role as Treasurer on Encore Musical Theatre’s executive board. Her performance experience with Encore includes 9 to 5: The Musical, Head Over Heels, and the upcoming production of Come From Away.

A graduate of John Abbott College’s Professional Theatre Program, Jen has been actively involved in the Hudson theatre community over the last three decades, including Hudson Village Theatre, Hudson Players Club & Shakespeare by the Lake. She values the creativity, collaboration, and lasting connections that community theatre brings to everyone involved.

Having experienced firsthand the dedication that brings a production to life, Jen is pleased to contribute behind the scenes as Treasurer. She looks forward to supporting Encore’s creative work and helping sustain the opportunities it offers performers, volunteers, and audiences alike.

Thrilled that musical theatre is making a long-awaited return to the area, Sylvia is most pleased to be active in the inception and organization of ENCORE Musical Theatre! Upon retiring as a teacher of modern languages, drama and dance, she performed in a number of Hudson Music Club, Hudson Players and Lakeshore Players productions. Sylvia now divides her time volunteering in various community organizations and ever looking for new projects.

Hey there! I’m Pete. I joined Encore last year as Stage Manager. My motto is that if the audience doesn’t know I’m there, I’ve done a good job! That said, the cast definitely knows I am there. As Johnny Harmon said in Curtains, “I am part psychiatrist, part Mother Hen, part Father Confessor.” I am very excited to join the Encore Board as Technical Director!

Returning to the greater Montreal area, after time in Toronto, Stefania is thrilled to be a part of the board for Encore Theatre. During the day she works at Motion Creative Analytics. Recent theatre credits include Cosette (Les Misérables, Productions Coracoles), Maria (The Sound of Music, Hillcrest Village Players), and Anya/Anastasia (Anastasia, Alexander Showcase Theatre).

Hi i’m Kelsey! I grew up in Hudson. I moved away for 8 years and decided to come back to my home roots last April. I’ve always had a love for the arts and musical theatre is my favourite! ☺️ It fuels my soul and creativity with dancing, singing and acting.

It was so much fun performing in Curtains with Encore Musical Theatre, and I am thrilled to be on the Board as Membership Director!

Ava has a lifelong passion for acting, dancing, and singing, and for the past six years has been starring in her most demanding role yet: “domestic engineer,” raising two energetic kids with no intermissions and no understudies.

In 2022, she moved to Hudson, Quebec, and later happily joined the Encore Musical Theatre family, where she can belt out a tune without anyone asking for a snack halfway through. She loves being part of a community that helps her grow as a performer and keeps her connected. When she’s not singing or dancing, she’s out enjoying Hudson’s outdoors with her kids, cooking, or knee-deep in one of her many hobbies and projects, most of which are only half-finished but full of enthusiasm.

Hi! I’m Amanda: The person behind the posts! My love of theatre was born at 4 years old when I won the role of the Big Bad Wolf at Canada’s Wonderland by roaring the loudest!

Since then I have had the honour of playing with so many creatives on so many stages; singing, acting, and dancing my way from one book musical to another cabaret. Most recently I have added Associate Producer and Choreographer to my resume.

It is a thrill to get to work behind the scenes with such a talented and passionate production team! I am so grateful to be able to play a part in bringing Musical Theatre to Hudson. Thank you to our lovely community for all of your support.
