Théatre Musical ENCORE Musical Theatre proudly announces its fourth production, Come From Away.
Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.
The show highlights themes of kindness, compassion, and unity in a time of crisis, focusing on the "September 12th" story of community support and lasting friendships, with a vibrant folk-influenced score. Its global presence resonates across all audiences as an uplifting reminder of humanity’s ability to come together, no matter what the circumstances.

Pier-Luc Fournier
MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Pier-Luc is a musical director with over 20 years of experience as a clarinetist and 15 years in choirs performing choreographies. A Musitechnic graduate trained in musical direction through L’Alliance des Chorales du Québec, he has served as musical director for Into the Woods with the Hudson Music Club and assistant musical director for Head Over Heels with Encore Musical Theatre. His background also spans choral performance and video game sound design, notably Ubisoft Gamelab projects. Combining live performance expertise with technical audio skills, Pier-Luc is passionate about interactive soundscapes and storytelling through music, and guides ensembles toward compelling musical experiences.
